The Spiritual Heart of the Capital A full day exploring old Tashkent, including:

Hazrati Imam (Khast-Imam) Complex

The city's main religious centre, built around the resting place of Kaffal ash-Shashi, with the Barak-Khan and Mui Mubarak madrasas and the golden-domed Hazrati Imam Mosque.

The Uthman Mushaf

The world's oldest surviving Qur'an manuscript, traditionally linked to the third Caliph Uthman ibn Affan (RA), now preserved at Tashkent's new Center for Islamic Civilization.

Chorsu Bazaar

Three majestic madrasas forming one of the most breathtaking ensembles in the Muslim world. Built between the 15th and 17th centuries, the square once served as a center for teaching astronomy, theology, and philosophy.

Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex

In the village of Hartang, about 25 km from Samarkand, the magnificently restored resting place of the Sultan al-Muhaddithin. A visit to Samarkand's great shrines is traditionally described as a lesser pilgrimage (ziyarah)

Bibi-Khanym Mosque

Once among the largest mosques of its age. It was built to rival the grandest mosques of the Islamic world at the time. Its soaring entrance portal and vast courtyard still convey the scale of Timurid-era ambition.

Shah-i-Zinda

A stretch of mausoleums lines a narrow passage, their facades covered in some of the most intricate tilework in Central Asia. It remains a site of quiet ziyarah, visited by pilgrims seeking blessings.

3. Bukhara

Travel to Bukhara ("Bukhara Sharif"), the city so rich in scholarship it earned the title Sharif (the Noble). Explore:

Bahauddin Naqshband Memorial Complex

Around 10–12 km from the city, the resting place of the 14th-century saint and founder of the Naqshbandi order, so revered that his shrine is known as the "Central Asian Mecca."

Ismail Samani Mausoleum

Visit one of Central Asia's oldest and finest preserved monuments, the resting place of Ismail Samani, celebrated for its remarkable brickwork and timeless Islamic architecture.

Chashma-Ayub

Visit the revered Spring of Prophet Ayyub (AS), a historic site believed to have miraculously appeared through Allah's mercy, symbolizing healing, patience, and resilience.
